Ladies Darsa
Weekly learning for women on parenting, mental health, marriage, and the pressures that were pulling students away from the Qur’an.
The Ladies Darsa began from a worry inside a Qur’an memorisation programme in Majengo. Students were arriving late, and some were dropping out. It was not a lack of interest. It was what they were going home to: little support from parents, substance abuse, and houses that were not steady.
The sessions were opened so those pressures could be spoken about in the open, with care. Topics include:
- Child motivation and parenting
- Mental health awareness
- Marriage and family relations
- Drug and substance abuse
Punctuality improved. Love for the Qur’an strengthened. Memorisation improved with it. The darsa is a reminder that a student’s progress is tied to the home she returns to.
